The Hard Left

At a town fair nearby, some local Green Party idiots decided to put rent a booth on the village green complete with an anti-Israel sign provided by the Green Party. The fair's organizer showed some backbone and walked overand took the sign down saying simply:

"My job is to make sure everybody has a good time and that no one is offended. The sign was in poor taste. It was dealt with quietly and peacefully."
Needless to say the quote unquote activists were on the phone to the ACLU faster than a politician deflects blame or claims credit, and I assume there will be squawking from the ACLU and the Greens flying back and forth in the local papers instead of the usual "jams and jellying" news that we get around here.

A quick Google search reveals a pervasive anti-Israel bent in the Green Party, which is calmly sloughed off in one quote as being irrelevant since their candidates have no chance of being elected, however, we also find that one of the quote unquote activists has published several letters to the editor as well as op-eds decrying support for Israel, and that said "activist" has (in the Green Party's own words) "assisted Palestinian and international relief workers in Bethlehem and Ramallah". Aha, playing in the St. Pancake space, with links to those fun little national socialists at ISM...

As Martin Luther King so famously said at Harvard "When people criticize Zionists, they mean Jews, You are talking anti-Semitism." Si il marche comme un canard.

Oh, and Green Party? I'll have a steak dinner with cigars in a fine restaurant with Alan Greenspan and Milton Friedman, and make sure that fine restaurant's electricity is generated by a US-designed nuclear power plant, and drive me there in an SUV.
